A little about Lucas, he originally came to the rescue as a one-year old puppy about 5 years ago from a hoarder. He’s about 6 years old now and weighs about 10 pounds.  He and another dog were adopted together. A few months ago, even though we take our dogs back, they were owner surrendered to the Humane Society. Luckily, they were microchipped and returned to the rescue by the Humane Society. The other dog (who was with another foster) was adopted a few weeks ago.

Lucas has a “mighty dog” personality. He has been through a lot of changes in recent months and it was over three days before I could touch him. Now, he’s a love bug. He can use a dog door and likes to go outside and lay in the sun. I haven’t seen him play with toys very much but he does love to play with other dogs his size. He does bark at strangers who come into my home. He walks on leash ok, but could use some work. We haven’t had much practice in this heat.
