MEEKO

Hello, I am a 12 year old pure chocolate Tri Long hair Chihuahua. I love to travel and I am very good with a harness and leash. I am house broken and I do prefer a doggie door.

I am also crate trained that is my in the house doggie house LOL!

I love baths and I really like to be blowed dryed and brushed. Not to crazy about my nails being cut but! my foster mom is working on that with me.

I love everybody and I love to go on walks. I have had left hip surgery so I don't walk for long periods of time like (30 minutes is good for me) I love to be on your lap and be loved.

I do not get on the furniture at all. I have had eye surgery last year to fix my cherry eyes and have been released from the vet to look for my forever home. I also have had all my dental work done.

Vet states I am very health and have alot of years left.

My foster parents state I am the perfect little lady. I am still on a diet as I came to the rescue very obese and do have a fatty mass on my tail dock. I still have 1 lb more to take off.

At this time I weigh in at 11 lbs.

For more information on me please contact my foster mom.

DUKE

Duke is a 2 y/o, ll lb. Chihuahua mix. He came to AZCR with hydrocehphalus (water on the brain), and had surgery to repair the condition. This left him with reduced sight (he is not blind) and a quiet, affectionate
personality. The only thing he gets vocal about is his dinner!

Here's what he has to say:
Hello, I'm the Duke, and I'm feeling pretty lucky because I've got a second chance at life!! That surgery on my head was a big deal and it took me a while to get well, but it doesn't bother me any more. My balance and circling problems are all in the past, and I really need some glasses to read the paper but I get around just fine without them, thank you very much! I'd love to have a home with a lap I can lie in a little each day, because I love to be held. I'd love to have a little friend I can cuddle up with the rest of the day, because the best part of my day is when I'm napping with a buddy. Well, maybe the best part of my day is when I'm out lying in the warm sun with my buddy!

I am house trained once you know my routine, and I need to have someone available to let me outside, as I don't know what a doggy door is and I probably cannot learn to use one. I like to go for short leash walks or just outside in the yard is OK, too. I'd really like to find a forever home that just wants a cuddle bug and a really easy keeper!

Note to our supporters and adopters:
Duke's surgery was extraordinarily expensive. We do not charge adopters the true cost of bringing these injured and ill dogs back to health; all fees are standard regardless of each dog's health expenses. If you would like to help with Duke and
so many others like him, please go to the Donations link and give whatever you can. Many dogs will benefit from your kindness!
