Future Adoptables These are new dogs that have come to live with our fosters for
a short while until they find their forever homes. They have just come to us so they
need to be evaluated, need shots, neutering or spaying before they can be adopted
out. THESE DOGS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION SOON BUT ARE NOT READY YET.
We would just like to let you see who will be coming up for adoption soon!
Please note that our foster parents do have the first option to adopt their foster dogs
themselves if they find they have fallen in love!
ALL FOSTERS are volunteers and work full time jobs. AZCR does NOT have any paid
staff. Please be patient and we all do our best to answer all e-mails within 48 hours.
| | BOYSTER
Hi they call me Boy! I have to wait for 2 weeks before I can be put up for adoption. I have to see the vet for a check up and get micro chipped and all that good stuff.
I am 1 years old, 8 lbs and white and cream spotted smooth coat Chi/Mix. I am kinda shy the first time I meet you. Then I come out of my shell and I like to talk and smile and be everywhere you are.
I am good on the leash and ride very good in the car. I am learning all about the doggie door and wire crates.
I am still needing some help with potty training. I get along with other small dogs. They stated I get along with cats! no cats at this foster house. I am not much of a barker unless I am very happy to see you.

I am a 1 year old Tri colored smooth coat chihuahua I am around 5 lbs. I will not be ready for adoption for awhile. I have to see the vet and get all taken care of before I can go up for adoption.
The kinda home I will need to be in is NO KIDS! NO OTHER DOGS! NO MEN! A retired woman would do me just fine.
I can get a little snippy sometimes but my foster mom thinks it is due to my pain I have in my left hind leg. So, back to vet I go.
I do walk well on the leash. Learning to be crate trained but do like to sleep in bed with my foster mom. I still need help with potty training.
Just because this man is holding me does not mean I like men!!! He is a foster dad that is working with me when he can.
For more information on me call my foster mom Elaine at 928.300.6187

| | KILEY
Coming to you from a foster home in Phoenix, we'd like you to meet Kiley. Kiley is a beautiful long coat purebred Chihuahua. We were told she is a retired show/breeder dog. She did mention to me (her foster mom) that she is quite happy to be retired from both those professions and is looking forward to becoming someone's treasured friend and companion for the remainder of her life. Kiley is between 4 - 5 yrs old, weighs 5 lbs and is very tiny. She is a happy girl, full of life and enthusiasm.
Kiley is awaiting her appointment for her spay, microchip and dental. She has already gotten her vaccines and will likely be appearing on the rescue's adoptables page in the near future. Special note: Kiley's adoptive home will need to have no young children, and any other dogs in the home will need to be in her size range.

Hi everyone, we are Lily and Tulip – two sisters from the “flower children” litter. Our foster mom calls us “Chiweenies” because we are mixed with Chihuahua and Dachshund. We were born on 5/1/10 and we will be ready for adoption on 9/6/10. We can’t wait to find our forever homes!
I am Lily and I will go first. I am the smaller of the two of us, and I weigh 4.73 lbs. I love to play with my sister and any other dog that will let me. My favorite game is keep away. I am a puppy and I have baby teeth so I like things like chew toys, rope toys and any stick I can grab. I am very outgoing and social and I love to play with people just as much as dogs. When I am outside I like to run and jump and chase anything that moves. Right now I sleep in a pen at night with my sister because I still haven’t gotten the potty training down yet. My foster mom is helping me with this.
My name is Tulip. I am a little bigger than my sister – I weigh 5.67 lbs. I also love to play with other dogs, but I am not quite as rambunctious as she is. I enjoy being around people and love laps. I am a little shy when someone comes to pick me up, so I sit very quietly. Once I’m being held, I like to give little kisses. I love my chew toys and my chicken jerky treats. I enjoy being outside and I will play with anything and everything I can find out there! I am also working on potty training, and my foster mom says I am learning.
If possible, we would both like to go to homes with another dog or with someone who can spend a lot of time with us, because we are young and will get bored quickly if we are left all alone. If you think you might have the perfect home for either of us, please contact our foster mom – we would love to meet you.

Helen for information on how to adopt Lily & Tulip. | | MISS LILY I, her foster Mom, am proud to present our sweet girl, Miss Lily. She was adopted to a family some months back who recently returned her to the rescue. They said that she was being returned because (1) she does not like to travel and (2) she goes after the pant legs of men-from behind. Since she has been with me she has traveled in the car to and from the vet's office on several occasions with no problem whatsoever. She does however want to go after men's pant legs-from behind. We are working on that with her and she will stop her persuit with a correction from me.
Miss Lily is well housetrained, she sleeps in her kennel overnight with no problems, she knows the command "sit", she is very affectionate with me, loves to give kisses and gets along fairly well with the other dogs in the household. She does aspire to be the dominate dog but we are also working on that and she is coming along. She could do okay with another dog but would probably do best as the only dog. Lily is about 2 1/2 years old.
Miss Lily tested negative for heartworm and is on heartworm preventive med's. She had some seizures while with her previous owner and she is on medication to control those. Miss Lily tested negative for Valley and Tick Fevers so the vet feels she is epileptic and will likely need to remain on seizure control meds for the remainder of her life.

| | OLIVE
My name is Olive. I am a 1 yr old 6 lb female Chi. If you want a dog that lets you know how happy she is that you have come home, I am the dog for you. I will dance around and show you how happy I am to see you, even if you’ve been gone for 5 minutes! I love to play with my toys and will run around if you play with me. I am also happy curling up in your lap and being close to anybody that will have me. I am working on getting potty trained and am doing much better. I like to go for walks, but sometimes I will let you know that I have had enough and will just lie down wherever I am. I like being carried home! I am fine with other dogs, but I haven’t met any cats yet. I was living with 2 big labs for a while and had fun playing with them. Sometimes I get grumpy if I am sitting in somebody’s lap and another dog tries to hop up there, but that is the only time I act like that. I had to have my left eye removed in May, but I act like it’s still there. I get around fine and have adapted extremely well. Even though I am just 6 lbs., I think I’m a big watchdog and will bark and protect my house. I will stop when I’m told to, but at least I let anybody in the house know what’s going on!
I am currently being treated for Mites and won’t be able to be adopted until the end of October. The Mites aren’t contagious, we just want to make sure I am completely treated and well before going to my forever home.

| | PRIMO
Hi there! My name is Primo. My foster mom
named me Primo because I have a #1 tattooed inside my right ear. I came from a
puppy mill in Missouri so I don’t know much about being someone’s pet. They said I
was 7 or 8 but my foster mom thinks I am much younger because I love to run and
play with the puppies in my foster home, and they are under 1 year old. I just run
through the house with them. It is so much fun not to be in a cage., which is where I
spent my lift before I came to Arizona.
I am about 7 pounds and, as you can see, a very handsome boy. I have been neutered,
had all my shots, micro chipped and even had my teeth cleaned. Well, they really took
most of them out. I think, because my teeth were such a mess, they thought I was older
then I am. They don’t have any doggie dentists in those puppy mills.
I was very afraid when I first got here but I am warming up to my foster mom. I will
walk up and let her pet me but I am not ready to be picked up yet. Let’s just take it
slowly
I will just need a little more time to get socialized and to learn this housebreaking stuff
and then I will be ready to find my forever home. I just can’t wait. – Will you wait for
me? Just e-mail my foster mom.

Hi my name is Rose and I’m one of the “flower children” pups, my sisters are Lily and Tulip. I’m a beautiful reddish tan Chihuahua/Dachshund mix called a Chiweenie. My birthday is 5/1/2010 and will be able to go to my forever home on 9/6/2010, I just can’t wait!! I now weigh 4.61 lbs, wow am I growing! I love to play outside and explore. Balls are my favorite and I will take my little golf ball everywhere I go, I also love toys and will steal all the toys I can find and put them in my pen so I can play before I go to sleep. I really like to be with people and dogs so I can play, play, play, don’t you want to play with me to? I’m learning the whole potty training thing and I think I’m doing pretty good but I do still have accidents so I will need some help with it. I’m learning about the leash thing to, I think it’s like my golf ball and carry it in my mouth but it sure has a long funny tail?
I would love to go to a home with another dog to play with or to people that have a lot of time to spend with me. I’m still a puppy and will get bored being by myself. If you would like to meet me please let my foster mom know.
